Every business begins with a Free Listing:

  • Business description
  • Standard approval queue (when we have time)

Once your free listing is live, you can upgrade it to Featured at any time by purchasing one of our Featured Listing products.

### Important: Featured Listing is an upgrade, not a new listing


Our Featured Listing service is **only** for upgrading an **existing free listing**.

  • First, add your **free listing** and wait for it to be approved.
  • After approval, purchase your preferred **Featured Listing duration**.
  • Then, send us the **URL of your existing listing** so we can upgrade it.

You do **not** need to send all your business details again.
We use the information already in your free listing and upgrade that same listing to Featured.

If you **don’t have a listing yet** and want us to **create a new listing and make it Featured**, please contact us for a **separate quote**.

How it works – step by step

How Featured Listing Works

Step 1 – Create your free listing


  1. Go to “Add Listing”.
  2. Enter your business details, choose your category and submit.
  3. Your listing goes into the standard manual review queue.

Step 2 – Choose your Featured Listing package


When your free listing is live and you’re ready to upgrade:

  1. Scroll to the Featured Listing options on this page or visit our Shop.
  2. Choose your preferred duration – **3-Month, 6-Month, or 12-Month Featured Listing**.
  3. Click the **Select this plan** button to go to the PayPal checkout.

Step 3 – Complete checkout (PayPal only)


  1. We use PayPal for payments.
  2. You can pay using your PayPal account or card through PayPal.
  3. We do not store any credit card details on Aus Business Directory.
  4. There are no subscriptions and no auto-renewals.

Step 4 – Send your listing URL (no extra info needed)


After payment, you will:

  1. Receive a confirmation from PayPal.
  2. Send us **only the URL of your existing free listing** on Aus Business Directory.
You do **not** need to send your full business information again.
This Featured Listing service is **only for upgrading an existing free listing** to get more views and better exposure.

If you need:

  • A **new listing created from scratch**, or
  • A **new listing + Featured Listing together**,
please contact us for a **custom quote** before purchasing.

Step 5 – Manual review, editing and activation


A real human will:
  1. Check your business details
  2. Place you in the best category (or confirm your choice)
  3. Make light edits for spelling and clarity
  4. Activate the Featured Listing for the paid period
You’ll receive a short confirmation once it’s live.

Rules & content guidelines

To keep the directory clean and helpful, we have some simple rules:

1. Real businesses only


You must be a genuine business, organisation or sole trader.
No fake or duplicate listings pretending to be different businesses.

2. One main listing per business


If you have multiple locations, you can mention them in your description or discuss extra listings with us.

3. Safe and legal content

No abusive, illegal, hateful, or misleading content.
No spam, malware, scams or dangerous products.

4. Manual review & editing

Nothing is auto-approved.
We may edit your listing for spelling, grammar, layout and category placement.

5.Duration & expiry

Featured Listing duration starts from the activation date (when we mark it live as Featured).
It ends on the exact 3, 6 or 12-month date, depending on your product.
After expiry, your listing will either: Return to a free listing, or Be removed if the business is no longer active or breaks our rules.

6. Refunds

We generally do not offer change-of-mind refunds once:
Your listing has been approved, or
Your Featured Listing has been activated.

However, your rights under the Australian Consumer Law still apply if a service is not provided with reasonable care and skill or as described.

Payments, security and privacy

  • All payments are processed through PayPal.
  • We do not store credit card numbers on our site.
  • No subscriptions, no automatic billing, no lock-in contracts.
  • You’ll receive a receipt from PayPal and/or our shop for your records.

Frequently asked questions

Q: Do I need a free listing before I can buy a Featured Listing?
A: Yes. Every Featured Listing is an upgrade to an existing free listing. If you haven’t added your free listing yet, please do that first.
Q: After I buy a Featured Listing, what do you need from me?
A: Just send us the **URL of your existing free listing** on Aus Business Directory.
We do not need you to resend all your business information.
We upgrade that existing listing to Featured for the duration you purchased.

If you don’t have a listing yet and want us to create a new one plus make it Featured, please contact us for a separate quote.
Q: What happens when my Featured Listing expires?
A: When your paid period (3, 6 or 12 months) ends, your listing will normally return to a standard free listing. You can purchase another Featured Listing later if you want to upgrade again.
Q: Will my Featured Listing renew automatically?
A: No. We do not use subscriptions or auto-renew. If you want to extend your Featured period, simply buy another Featured Listing product when you’re ready.
Q: How quickly will my listing or upgrade be approved?
A: Standard free listings: reviewed when time allows.Fast Approval add-on: we aim for 24–48 hours (business days). Approval time depends on you providing complete and accurate details.
Q: Do you only accept some industries?
A: Aus Business Directory is open to most legal business types. If your business does not fit our basic guidelines or local laws, we may decline the listing and let you know.
